A homeowner in Alpharetta reached out to us for help with their large deck awning, which had not been cleaned in more than seven years.
Surrounding trees had dropped dirt and debris onto the fabric, and the lack of direct sunlight created the perfect conditions for algae growth, leading to a thick patch across the surface. After over eight hours of detailed, professional cleaning, we successfully restored the awning’s appearance.
While some permanent staining remained, the awning is now refreshed, cleaner, and better preserved for long-term use.
This retractable awning in Marietta had been in use for six years, exhibiting the typical wear often seen from prolonged Sun exposure and the natural friction that occurs when retracting the fabric. Our team carefully inspected the damage, noting two weakened seams and small holes.
We then performed a thorough cleaning, reinforced the failing stitching, and patched the affected areas. With these repairs, the awning is structurally sound and ready to provide reliable shade for at least another season.
At this Sandy Springs home, the retractable awning showed a common issue we see as awnings age: the spline pull had deteriorated and fallen out. When this happens, the fabric no longer maintains proper tension, which compromises the awning’s structural integrity.
As a result, rainwater can begin to pool on the surface, creating unnecessary weight and added stress on the frame. Addressing spline deterioration early is important to extend the life of the awning and prevent more costly structural damage down the road.
At this Roswell residence, we were called to service two awnings that had gone years without proper maintenance. The half-dome awning at the front of the home had not been cleaned in nearly seven years, which left it heavily weathered and in need of restoration.
The rear awning showed more severe issues; its spline, which holds the fabric to the frame, had deteriorated to the point of pulling away from the frame. To restore its integrity, we carefully removed the awning from the frame, extracted the worn spline, and installed a new spline for a secure fit.
With both cleaning and structural repair completed, these awnings are once again functional and presentable, extending their service life.
This vinyl awning, situated at a business in historic Marietta Square, exemplifies the type of commercial projects we frequently service in the area. Vinyl is a durable material, but with regular exposure to sun, rain, and everyday wear, it requires professional care to maintain its appearance and longevity.
By working on awnings in high-traffic areas like Marietta Square, our team helps local businesses protect their investment while keeping storefronts looking clean and inviting.
A homeowner in Roswell recently booked us for a routine awning cleaning. During our on-site inspection, it was discovered that the spline, the cord that secures the canvas to the frame, had worked loose, impacting both the structural integrity and long-term performance of the awning.
Based on over 20 years of field experience, it was explained that the spline is critical for proper tension, even stress distribution, and wind resistance. Without it, the fabric may sag, weaken, or tear prematurely, often leading to full replacement.
Initially, it was presented as a full canvas replacement. However, the homeowner preferred a repair-focused solution, which we support when it’s viable and safe.
Removed the canvas from the frame and transported it safely to our workshop.
Carefully unstitched a precise section to access the spline.
Extracted the damaged spline and installed a new, industry‑grade spline.
Re-stitched the canvas per original factory specifications.
Fully reinstalled the repaired canvas on-site, ensuring proper tension and alignment.
This precise repair saved the homeowner over $1,000 compared to a full canvas replacement. It also significantly extended the awning’s service life and preserved its structural function.

Lisa PodolskiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have never had a company work as hard for us as Atlanta Awning Cleaners. They worked over two full days cleaning, rewiring and sealing three awnings that we hadn't cleaned in years and made them look like new. They even took one of them back to their business to give ut the best clean possible. They were so pleasant and explained so much about what they were doing and what we could expect. They have several contacts for replacing awnings should that be needed but did not push for any extra services and honored their quoted price to the penny. Their price was amazing for the amount of work they put in. I can recommend them with no hesitation at all, if you want great attention to detail for an amazing price, give them a try! Linda GartlandTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Joel and his dad did an A+ job cleaning our back porch awning. It had not been cleaned in over 5 years, but they did a fantastic job of bringing the color and cleanliness back. They fastidiously cleaned both the top and underside too. I thought their price was very reasonable, especially for the quality of their work. Definitely recommend them.Google rating score: 5.0 of 5, based on 2 reviewsVerified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
